Recent Work

I've found that many of the themes I carried with me from the Southwest still apply here on the Eastern Shore. The farms, fields, barns and country roads remain in abundance but the environment in which I now see them has altered radically. I'm struck by the sheer saturation of water in my new surroundings and while I need not necessarily represent it literally in the subject matter, one of my primary goals has been in striving to interpret this all-pervasive element in my landscapes. It's taken some time to make the adjustment artistically, one wrought with unexpected discoveries as well as its share of dead ends. As I explore new directions from which to approach my subjects, I'm playing with a variety of styles: some may look familiar while others are entirely new inventions. The pieces below are those few I consider finished works- I have many more in various stages of completion that I'll post when the time comes. You will find specific information on each piece by clicking on it.
